Hello from Alison, Alan & Richard.
For those of you not in the know Alison is Alan's wife & Richard is his brother.
Why did we ever decide to go into the water at the end of September in Suffolk and not the Med or Gulf of Mexico.
Well firstly we are all keen swimmers but have only ever braved our local indoor pools. When we first saw the Great East Swim 2009 event on September 26th there was much umm'ing & arrhh'ing mostly from Alan & Richard concerned about the water temperature having an unkind effect.
However we eventually decided we would go for it & have since discovered wetsuits not only help keep you warm but can also be great fun getting in & out of..... but that's another event altogether!!
Anyhow we are all hoping to complete the 1 Mile, (that's 64 lengths of a normal 25metre pool), Open Water Swim at Alton Water reservoir near Ipswich in under 50 minutes, ducks, swans & any other water fowl permitting.
We choose this charity because it is not only currently close to our hearts but has effected other family members in the past and obviously effects many families we and you all know.
Any support you give is greatly appreciated so thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Thanks again here's hoping for a nice warm late summers day!
