We will only defeat cancer if we can develop treatments that work for those tumours that are resistant to current treatments, and if we can truly understand the natural history of this disease.

We need to raise the awareness of prostate cancer in . The numbers of men requiring care for prostate cancer is certain to rise in the next decade, with increased testing, an ageing population, and a true increase in incidence.

Research will provide scope for improved diagnosis of prostate cancer and the development of more effective ways to treat prostate cancer.
