Story
Those of you that know me will know that 3 years ago I was diagnosed with a cancerous Brain Tumour. Since treatment I am now maintaining clear scans and making the most of life.
In order to give something back to the medical research that saved my life, I raised over £4500 for Brain Tumour Research and Cancer charities in 2004 and a further £1000 in 2005, taking place in charity runs and treks/climbs. In 2004 I completed a six-day trek in the Annapurna range, ; stretching some 30 miles with no less than 11 summits over 23,000ft/7,000m. In 2005 I climbed Mont Blanc and now for 2006 I intend to attempt Kilimanjaro.
My chosen charity the Samantha Dickinson Research Trust (SDRT), is a Trust set up for paediatric brain tumour and adult brain tumour Research and support and advice for those diagnosed with a brain tumour, including their families and carers.
In eight years, the Charity has become the largest single funder of laboratory based brain tumour research in the UK.
I am personally funding the climb and all money rasied will go directly to the charity.
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page.
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Samantha Dickson Brain Tumour Trust (SDBTT) will receive your money faster and, if you are a taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
