Climbing Mount Kilimanjaro · 9 June 2012

Clowns in the Sky is dedicated to the research and treatment of childhood brain tumours and to the welfare of affected children and their families. It's aim is to bring a smile to the face of a child and their family, by granting them a wish, which will provide distraction from their treatment. Clowns in the Sky offers discretionary support grants to enhance the quality of life for those who have been affected by childhood brain tumours.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I am fundraising for the charity "Clowns in the Sky". They are dedicated to the research and treatment of childhood brain tumors and to the welfare of affected children and their families. One in four children diagnosed with cancer, suffer from brain cancer. It is the second most common childhood cancer.

I am self-funding my trip to Tanzania...to climb Mount Kilimanjaro. I am travelling in a group with www.kilimanjarochallenge.com I have completed the Gold Duke of Edinburgh award, but this is a brand new challenge. To cause myself extra pain I have recently signed up for a half marathon on 11th March at Silverstone F1 track.

As they have a minimum donation level I thought it would be easier to fund the trip myself and choose a charity of my choice, so no one has any pressure on how much to give. I would be grateful for any money you can afford to spare.

Please make sure once you have donated to tick the Gift Aid box. This enables the charity to reclaim tax on your donation, thus getting some extra pennies.

So please dig deep and donate now. Thank you for giving your time to read this, and I cannot thank you enough for the money you have donated, it will really make a difference to the children. If I reach £1000 I will attempt to run the Kings Lynn 10k in under 42mins (May). If you lot go crazy and reach £2000 I will do the half marathon in Peterborough (October)

Lots of Love Shaun x
