Story

2009 Flora London Marathon is done, 2010 Virgin London Marathon waits!!

We both decided (Tim on the left, Charlie on the right) to run this year just to see if we could to prove it to ourselves! Now we are going to do it for others.

Through the people we know, friends and family and the fantastic customers of the Wiremill we are aiming to raise over £10,000 by 28th April 2010. This will be just the beginning as I really believe we can do far better. So if you are one of those, donate some spare change here.

Give us some money for what we achieved on Sunday 27th April, 26.2 miles is, I can confirm, a very long way! When people say it is an experience of a lifetime they are not doing the event any injustice, the whole day was amazing and the support was something I simply can't describe to you.

Anthony is doing something slightly different – he is running the same distance over mountains and hills – the nutter!

We have yet to find events for Colin and Jason, but running the pub is a marathon in itself so we will let them off for now.

During the course of this year we will hold a number of events for local charities at the pub and enter different events to challenge ourselves so the Virgin London Marathon is just a target, by donating here your money will be immediately transferred to Macmillan who do amazing work and need more support now than ever.

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Macmillan Cancer Support gets your money faster and, if you’re a taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation – better than cash!
