<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt;"><span><span style="font-family: Times New Roman; font-size: small;"> </span></span><span><span style="font-family: Times New Roman; font-size: small;"><span style="mso-ansi-language: EN;"><span style="font-size: small;">Over the years I have done a few adventures here & there, all of which have been hugely rewarding & challenging in their own way. However, I did not raise money for any of them. The difference with this trip is twofold; due to the magnitude of the journey (solo cycle from London – Hong Kong) I felt I would be able to make a considerable difference to my chosen charity, Breast Cancer Care. Also, late last year my Mum was diagnosed with Breast Cancer. Fortunately due to the care available to her, chemotherapy and 4 strapping men in the family (and 2 beautiful grandchildren) she is now fast on the road to recovery. </span></span></span></span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt;"><span style="mso-ansi-language: EN;"><span style="font-size: small;">Going through chemotherapy is arduous, time-consuming, painful and drains the life out of you. She has been an absolute trooper throughout the treatments, enough so that she looked after me when I had a severe case of man-flu – a testament to her strength. We are all glad that the chemotherapy is now over and she can begin to recover properly with the love & support from her friends & family. Her resolution to not complain and keep a smile on her face has been admirable and a source of inspiration for myself & many others. I hope to use this inspiration when things get tough on the road.</span></span></p>
