<p><strong><span style="color: black; font-weight: normal; mso-bidi-font-weight: bold;"><span style="font-family: Times New Roman; font-size: small;">Tiger, Tiger was founded in September 2010 by professional artist </span></span></strong><span style="color: black;"><a href="http://petertinkler.com/"><strong><span style="color: black; font-weight: normal; text-decoration: none; text-underline: none; mso-bidi-font-weight: bold;"><span style="font-family: Times New Roman; font-size: small;">Peter Tinkler</span></span></strong></a><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Times New Roman;"> and poet Helen Calcutt<strong><span style="font-weight: normal; mso-bidi-font-weight: bold;">. We now have many supporters across the UK and Europe, working together to raise a collective voice of concern over the plight of this beautiful creature. Tigers have become forgotten animals, seen in picture books, wildlife magazines, or behind bars... </span></strong></span></span><span style="mso-bidi-font-weight: bold;"><br><br><strong><span style="font-weight: normal; mso-bidi-font-weight: bold;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Times New Roman;">Our aim is to use the spoken word as a means to raising awareness of the tiger's right to be a <span style="text-decoration: underline;">free animal</span>. There are less than 3,200 tigers currently roaming a mere 7% of their former range, due to poaching, clearing of forests for the timber trade, and human settlement. Tiger ,Tiger will therefore be an ongoing campaign, raising as much financial and vocal support as possible. </span></span></span></strong></span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Times New Roman;"><strong><span style="color: black; font-weight: normal; mso-bidi-font-weight: bold;">Our first Launch Event will be held on the 5th March 2011, featuring poets such as Julie Boden (former Birmingham poet laureate) award winning journalist Sarah James, poet Jacqui Rowe and playwright and novelist David Calcutt, and Born Free poet in residence </span></strong><span style="color: black;"><a href="http://tigeraria.weebly.com/news.html"><strong><span style="color: black; font-weight: normal; text-decoration: none; text-underline: none; mso-bidi-font-weight: bold;">Richard Bonfield</span></strong></a></span><strong><span style="color: #ff9900; font-weight: normal; mso-bidi-font-weight: bold;">.</span></strong><strong><span style="color: black; font-weight: normal; mso-bidi-font-weight: bold;"> This event will be a celebration of the campaign's ongoing success, hosting an evening of readings dedicated to the project's cause. If you would like to submit a poem, a short story, a monologue, (or a mixed bag) then please read our guidelines page. All submissions will be posted on our Tiger Blog.
