St Clare Hospice is a locally based charity covering West Essex and the border of East Herts. The Hospice cares for patients, aged 18 and over who have a life-limiting illness which may include cancer or another disease affecting their heart, lungs, kidney, liver or brain. In the last three years, the Hospice has helped 141 people in Theydon Bois through either equipment loan, Day Therapy, In Patient Unit or bereavement counselling/family support.
Last year, 1300 people did the 10k Midnight Walk and between them they raised around £106,000. The ‘Theydon Girls’, comprising of Jenny Berry, Caroline Cooper, Eleanor Dodman, Jacq Dodman, Liz Emmett, Felicity Grant, Caroline Gunnell, Jennie Gunnell, Sue Sowerby, Barbara Sweeting, Barbara Leach and Martina Robinson are once again taking to the streets of Harlow at midnight on Saturday 20th June 2009 to help beat last year’s target. St Clare is an amazing charity with outstanding staff and volunteers – we would be grateful for any support possible.
