Thanks for taking the time to visit Thighs of Steel

We are now cycling the 900 miles from John O'Groats to Land's End having started on August 3 2010! We are aiming to complete the distance in an ambitious 8 DAYS (over 100 miles per day).   We started at John O'Groats on Tuesday and today we reached England!  We will finish the ride on Tuesday next week so there's still time to make a donation.

We are raising money for Solace: Surviving Excile and Persecution, please be generous with your donations and we are greatful for all your support.

offers counseling and psychotherapy to asylum seekers and refugees in and Humberside. Asylum seekers, in particular, are among the most reviled people in our society but also the most needy. Many of Solace's clients have been imprisoned, tortured, raped and seen family and friends murdered.  But, extraordinarily, many report that the experience of applying for asylum in is worse:  uncertainty, poverty, intermittent imprisonment while waiting – perhaps for years - for a verdict from a system which is notoriously flawed.  Half of asylum seekers have mental health problems and some are suicidal.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

Thanks for your support!
