Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
It won't be a shock to any of you to find out that I like riding bikes. I cycled from Land's End to John o'Groats last summer, raising nearly £2000 for Cancer Research. This year it's Marie Curie's turn.
Rather than one big event, I'm doing three separate challenges this summer. The first of these, the Ride London 100, is a 100 mile closed road sportive around London and the surrounding Surrey countryside, taking in most of the route used for the 2012 Olympic cycling road race. With 20,000 participants, it's basically the London Marathon for cyclists. UPDATE: COMPLETED ON AUGUST 4TH IN 4 HOURS AND 52 MINUTES!
The second ride I'm aiming to complete is the rather amusingly named Wild Wales Challenge. At 85 miles in length and with over 11,000ft of climbing this will be the most difficult day of cycling I've ever attempted.
The final event I'm taking part in is the Etape Pennines, a 78 mile closed road sportive around the incredible scenery of County Durham. Although it's a shorter distance than the Wild Wales Challenge, the 7000ft of climbing ensure that this won't be an easy one either - especially if the weather is poor.
So, there you have it. If you feel like supporting me in my cycling endeavours this summer, please give as much as you fee you are able. Marie Curie is a truly worthy cause.
