My story

The plan is to cycle the 1000 miles from John O'Groats to Lands End in 8 days and in aid of the Psychiatry Research Trust. That's 125 miles a day, 8 days straight. Having never done any road cycling until this Summer this is a seriously daunting challenge and it starts in only two weeks time.

Organised by James Bowthorpe (who last year became the fastest man to cycle around the world, smashing the existing record by 20 days) this is his next fundraising venture for www.whatsdrivingparkinsons.net A cause very close to my heart. As some of you may know, my dad was diagnosed with Parkinson's nearly six years ago now so this is for him!X

For this ride i am hoping to raise £1000 for the Parkinson's Disease Research clinic (PDRC) which is run by the Psychiatry Research Trust. This money will go towards funding the 'What's Driving Parkinson's' research project being carried out by the PDRC. The administration costs of the charity are below 1%... so (almost) every penny of sponsorship will go to this worth-while cause.

I know this is a lot of miles to travel and a lot of money to raise. I also know that i am by no means the fittest or the most experienced of cyclists but with your support and a good tail wind i'm going to give it everything!

Thanks for reading X
