A group of friends and my husband are doing the National Three Peaks challenge on the 17th June 2010.
Liam Liddell, Marc Duggan, Neil Melhuish, David Duggan, Mathew Jones, James Prewitt, Roger Lane, Mathew Davies, Kurt Lardner, Steve Davies, Delme Smith & Carl Corcoran are all braving the steep hike of Snowdon, in Wales (1085m), Scafell Pike, in England (978m) & Ben Nevis, in Scotland (1344m) in just 24 Hours.
My Father Stephen Royal, aged 56, sadly passed away on the 21st March 2010 after courageously battling Oesophegeal Cancer for the last 18 months.
We would like to raise some money in his memory, for a charity that gave him and my mother great support.
The George Thomas Hospice care were great in helping my dad deal with this horrible disease and we would like to raise some money to thank them for their support so they can continue their wonderful work.
Facing cancer and other life threatening illness can be very difficult for sufferers and their families with many wishing to stay in their own homes but afraid of the extra pressures.
George Thomas Hospice Care provides specialist home based nursing and practical advice, emotional and spiritual support, medical equipment, therapies, treatments and day care activities and bereavement counselling.
They support up to 1000 patients and their families each year with their multi disciplinary team of specialist nurses, occupational therapists and social workers with all help provided totally free of charge.
They aim for patients and their families to have as much quality of life, independence, pain relief, knowledge of their treatment and advice and guidance as possible.
