Three Peak Challenge · 25 June 2016

SMA UK is a national charity supporting anyone affected by spinal muscular atrophy, a rare genetic, neuromuscular condition that causes muscle weakness and loss of movement. We offer support and information and advocate on issues important to the SMA Community.

Story

On 25th June 2016 we, that is, Harriet, Steven,Matthew, Dave, and Nick will be undertaking the Three Peak Challenge! This involves climbing Ben Nevis (Scotland), Scafell Pike (England) and Snowdon (Wales) in just 24 hours.

This is definitely not going to be an easy feat, but it is all to raise for a very good cause, the charity Spinal Muscular Atrophy Support UK. SMA Support UK support those affected by Spinal Muscular Atrophy, advocate for better services and raise public awareness in partnership with the health, social care and research communities.

We first became aware of the charity following the diagnosis of Joe’s baby daughter, Eilys, with Spinal Muscular Atrophy Type 1. She has devastatingly been given a likely life expectancy of less than 2 years. We want to raise as much money as we can for the charity and hopefully awareness too, so please sponsor us and help us conquer the Three Peaks, support the charity and Eilys.
