The Railway Children - Three Peaks Challenge by Rail · 25 June 2009 ·

Railway Children has a vision of a world in which no child is lost to the streets. Across the UK, India and Tanzania, our networks provide an opportunity for us to reach children who are alone and vulnerable before they come to serious harm. Together, we’re determined we’ll leave no child behind.

Story

PwC's transport team are entering two teams into the Three Peaks Challenge By Rail 2009. The challenge involves climbing the highest mountains in England, Scotland and Wales (Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike andSnowdon) over the course of three days with the teams being transported between the mountains via train. The organisers describe the event as, "the equivalent of three half marathons on quite difficult terrain and of course there is little prospect of much sleep during the event."

We are looking to raise £7000 for the Railway Children Charity. The charity does fantastic work around the world by helping and changing the lives of distressed children and particularly those living on the streets. They provide shelter, food, clothing and education to these children with a particular focus on early intervention.
