Jason Begg, Andrew Sykes and David Fraser of J & E Shepherd, Aberdeen are running the Inverness Half Marathon on 9th March 2008 to raise money for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust.  Jason's daughter, Morven, was diagnosed with cystic fibrosis at three weeks old.

Cystic Fibrosis is the UK's most common life-threatening inherited disease which affects over 8000 people in the UK.  Over two million people carry the faulty gene that causes CF (1 in 25 of the population).  every week, five babies are born with Cystic Fibrosis and sadly each week, three young lives are lost to Cystic Fibrosis.  The average life expectancy is 31 years, although with improved treatments, a baby born today is expected to live longer.

There is currently no cure for Cystic Fibrosis.  The Cystic Fibrosis Trust funds research to find an effective treatment for CF through gene therapy and believe that this is going to be the nearest thing to a cure in the foreseeable future.  The Cystic Fibrosis Trust has pledged to raise the necessary funds to carry out this work and so far, over £15 million has been invested in the project.  A product has been developed, however further tests are required.

Thank you for visiting our fundraising page. Please dig deep and sponsor us online.

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Cystic Fibrosis Trust will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

So please sponsor us now!

Many thanks for your support.
