Following John & Ian's attempt to win the Great Manchester Run back in May, (an event marked by the reality of losing out to world marathon record holder Heile Gebrselassie, along with a man in a 6ft chip costume and a postman from Oldham dressed as Santa) the second leg of our sponsorship effort in aid of the Bobby Moore Fund took place on Sunday when John took part in the 10k 'Run for Life' at Tatton Park.

After a grueling training regime consisting of a week eating & drinking in the sun in Portugal and a bottle or two of wine the night before, John somehow managed to stagger round in 52.10, more than a minute faster than the Great Manchester Run earlier in the year (and a definte poke in the eye for sports science!!)

The mud, the hills and the pain in the calves now appear to be a distant memory as he is casually predicting a run inside the 50 minute barrier sometime next year. No doubt the British middle distance Olympic squad will be quaking in their boots!!

More importantly we managed to raise some money for our chosen charity, the Bobby Moore Fund, which helps fund research into bowel cancer.

So a big Thank You to everyone who has supported us, if you haven't yet and want to help us raise some money you can still support us by visiting our fundraising page at  www.justgiving.co.uk/threesixtyselection
