Story

Threeways is a newly formed charity which aims to make a real and lasting difference across North Halifax.  One of the key challenges in the area is youth unemployment.  We have already created work placements and apprentice opportunities through our work but I would like to undertake this challenge to fund additional apprenticeships for young people to work with us.

My aim is to raise enough to employ 2 apprentices. The first one would work in our sports centre which is currently run largely by volunteers.  The second will work in our facilities management and gain valuable experience in this role.

My challenge is not only to cycle 215 miles in 3 days, but to do this on a mountain bike across largely off-road tracks and trails.  The official route is the Trans Pennine Trail.  It starts in Southport on the west coast and ends up in Hornsea on the east coast.  Along the way I will pass through Liverpool, Manchester, Barnsley, Doncaster, Selby and Hull before arriving at my destination.

This is not only a personal challenge to me but a passion of mine to invest in a generation who need a leg-up on the work ladder and a chance to prove and better themselves.

Please sponsor my ride and be as generous as you can.  I've not got too long to raise this funding.  Please also pass this on to others who you think might share our passion.
