Story
The event took place on the evening of July 2nd. It can reasonably be judged to have been a success. The amount of money raised on the night, both through the Auction of Gifts and though personal donations and pledges, has taken us way beyond the original target. And individual donations continue to come in.
This was a truly rare opportunity to hear about life on the front line in Afghanistan. Colonel William’s speech had a profound impact on everyone present and the subsequent generosity shown is just a small testament to the huge admiration and respect that this nation has for its fighting forces.
