The Sportsman's Charity, which has distributed nearly £2.5m since 1983, raises money through events for projects involving disabled sport, youth and social inclusion. Its distributions are made to other, smaller charitable organisations working in these fields.

Story

Thanks for visiting our fundraising page.

After a prolonged recovery period following our outing on the 2002 Caledonian Challenge, Gordon suggested at this year’s annual Tifanos reunion that it was time for action rather than reminiscing, and so we agreed we would take part in this year’s Hearts & Heroes Challenge along a 29 mile section of the Southern Upland Way.

We are delighted that the original team members of Gordon, Bob, Murray and Malcolm are being joined by Keith Swinley, Iain Paxton and James Hunter.

Unfortunately, there are no photos of the team, but Gordon has provided a stunning picture of Duchess Dyke with the Eildons and the finishing line in the distance.

Money raised from this event will be used to support the work of three charities involved:  Hearts & Balls, The Sportsman’s Charity and Poppyscotland.  The charities are working together on this event and money raised will provide pastoral and financial care to rugby’s seriously injured people, to assist with social inclusion, and to support veterans and their families in who are affected by a number of issues including financial, physical and psychological problems.

Your support for these worthwhile charities would be much appreciated.

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure.  It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor the efforts of all the people taking part in the challenge.
