Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.

I'm running the Run to the Beat Half Marathon in London on Sunday 5 October to raise money for AMMF. 

When I signed up at the beginning of this year October was way off and the whole summer stretched ahead... Well one wet summer later and the race date is here!  I have managed a few runs round Hackney Marshes but at the moment 13.1 miles still seems like a really long way.    AMMF is a great organisation dedicated to raising money for a really good cause so I am determined to run the race and hopefully raise some funds at the same time. 

AMMF (The Alan Morement Memorial Fund) was set up and registered as a charity with the aim of raising funds for research into cancer, especially cholangiocarcinoma.

Being considered a rare cancer which affected relatively few people, very little research has been undertaken into cholangiocarcinoma. However over the last few years, an enormous and extremely worrying increase in the incidence of this cancer has been flagged and research into its causes (one of which is thought to be environmental toxins) is now beginning in earnest. This research is something AMMF aims to support.
