Every cat and dog should enjoy a healthy life and a happy home. Through advice and support in our community, to rescue, rehabilitation and rehoming at our centre, we positively transform the lives of pets.

Story

WE DID IT!  6 miles of Bath Skyline completed on a scorching day. Thanks for your support so far, but please continue to support us with your donations - we still have a way to go to beat our target!

Hi! I'm Tilly (basset hound) and this is my pal Rhiannon (Bernese Mountain dog) and Thanks for visiting out fundraising page!

I have to admit I'm not overly enthusiastic about walking 6 miles around Bath in this weather on 28th Septmber between 10am and 4pm! Neither is Rhiannon, although she is considerably longer-legged than me. BUT, we feel we have to do something to help our furry friends at Bath Cats and Dogs Home. The staff and volunteers there work so hard to look after our fellow furry friends and find them their "forever home", but they could really do with your help. So, we and our packs are going to be walking the 6 mile course around Bath, along with some of the dogs from the home, to raise money for this brilliant cause.

It's not nice to feel unwanted - it's confusing and scary, not to mention heartbreaking . And when you're taken to the kennels/dog's home, you feel as if you're being punished - but then you get lots of cuddles and treats and walks from the lovely staff and you realise that not everyone treats or dismisses you like that and life seems good after all - there is hope.

Since the Home opened in 1937 they have saved tens of thousands of unwanted animals from cruelty, homelessness and destruction.

They are one of the largest animal re-homing centres in the UK caring for over 350 animals (dogs, cats and small animals) at any one time at a cost of over £3,000 a day. They have a strict non-destruction policy and aim to find every single animal a loving home, no matter how long this may take. I particularly like that part!

They receive no government, lottery or RSPCA funding and therefore our £1.2 million annual running costs are funded exclusively by voluntary donations and gifts in wills.

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Bath Cats and Dogs Home gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

So please sponsor us now! And don't forget to gift aid!

With lots of love and biscuits
