My story

For some bizarre reason, I feel like it's time for me to run the London Marathon. So with enough training, support, blood, sweat and tears I'll hopefully be on the start line next year to see how I fair against 26.2 miles of pain.

Running the London Marathon has been a personal goal of mine since I was a child. I watched it every year whilst growing up, hoping that one day it would be my turn. At the ripe old age of 30, that day will finally come. It will be fantastic to achieve this personal goal. However, running the Marathon is also an exceptional opportunity to raise a substantial amount of money for charity. I am required to raise £1700 for my charity but to be honest I would rather raise a whole lot more.

I have chosen to run for Spinal Research. This was a real no brainer for me. A couple of years ago a good friend of mine - Tom Nabarro had a snow boarding accident and is now paralysed from the shoulders down. Tom is an absolute legend and still leads a life that is incredibly full. To be honest his life is far fuller than mine. But the one major charity that could have some kind of impact on his life and thousands of others across the UK is Spinal Research.

Please give as much as you can to help this fantastic charity and more importantly to ensure that I can't wriggle out of taking part :-)

Thanks very much indeed.

Spinal Research

Charity Registration No. 1151015

Spinal Research is a pioneering charity. Its aim is to find ways to repair spinal cord injury and reverse the paralysis that results from it. Based in the UK and recognised as a leader in its field, Spinal Research funds groundbreaking projects at scientific and medical institutions around the world. The next landmark is the launch of clinical trials with paralysed volunteers. These trials will test innovative treatments that could repair damage in the human spinal cord, and so restore sensation and movement.
