Ok, people who know me may not believe this, but I am actually going to attempt to trek all the way to the Base Camp of Mount Everest! There are 24 of us from the GalaCoral group taking part in this trek, aiming to raise a minimum of £100,000 for Sue Ryder Care.

To give you an idea of what this involves, have a look below:

Firstly we cheat and take the plane from Kathmandu, Nepal to a place called Lukla (2800m). Then we start walking.....

....until after 8 days of trekking we reach the Mount Everest base camp, 5257m above sea level.

What fun! But more importantly, before I can even start to get excited about the trip I have to raise £4,000 for Sue Ryder Care.

For those of you who are not familiar with this charity, they work extremely hard caring for seriously ill individuals. Every pound raised can really help, and I would be really thankful if you could sponsor me for this good cause.
