"You have to forget your last marathon before you try another – your mind can't know what's coming."

Frank Shorter – Olympic Marathon Champion 1972

If that’s true  I’m going  to need a  very short memory,    because on the  8th  May 2009  I start the challenge  of running 10  full marathons in 10  consecutive days over a demanding (hilly !) route around Lake Windermere in Cumbria.

This  262 mile test of both physical and mental endurance isn’t  ‘just for  fun’ !   It’s  about   raising funds in support of the fantastic  work of the Brathay Hall Trust .

Brathay Hall   help disadvantaged children and young people from all over the UK to overcome the difficulties arising from their personal and social circumstances , by giving them the confidence and life skills to make positive choices  and thus enable  them to  realise their potential.

Further details on this great work can be found at www.brathay.com and further details on the challenge at www.brathaychallenge.com

I may have run a few marathons over recent  years ,  however I’ve never attempted anything of this magnitude , which I have little  doubt will test me to the  limit -   so please make it worth the  effort and pain,  and support the Brathay Hall trust by sponsoring  me .

Donating  through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me;  Brathay Hall gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

I would like to thank Vicky Evans and Peter Todd for their  support with this challenge as  they  both successfully completed the Bath half marathon  to help boost our fundraising  effort.

Thanks for visiting my fundraising page and I really appreciate all  of your support.
