Thank you for visiting timbo's fundraising page. Words from the coach (Looby Lou!) As some of you may be aware my dad was diagnosed with Dilated Cardiomyopathy 10 years ago and is currently at theFreemanHospitalin newcastle waiting for a heart transplant. Cardiomyopathy Association The Cardiomyopathy Association provides support, advice and information for individuals and families suffering from Cardiomyopathy. Cardiomyopathy is a bewildering disease, both for the patients and the family involved and often leaves many patients with lots of ongoing unanswered questions. The CMA hold regional information days around the country at which cardiologists experienced in dealing with cardiomyopathy give presentations on the condition, latest treatments and research, and answer members' questions. They have support groups around the where members can learn more about the condition and share experiences. They also have a network of people affected by the condition who offer one-to-one support on the telephone. The CMA receives no Government funding for its work and relies solely on membership fees, donations and fundraising. So thats where Timbo and i need your help!!! Timbo (Bless him) has seen how this condition has affected both myself and my family and has decided to take a huge step in order to raise money for the CMA by competing in the London Triathlon. To complete the Triathlon Tim has to endure: 1) A 1 mile swim in theThames!!! - wet suit may be appropiate and a sock!!! 2) A 25 mile bike ride 3) A 6.25 mile run And all one after each other!!! Words from the athlete!! Please join me in wishing all the best for Terry and wish me the best of luck for getting through this alive!! (especially considering i have not done any strenuous exercise in over 10 years!!) So please sponsor me, no matter how little you can afford to sponsor it is still much appreciated Sponsoring online is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Cardiomyopathy Association will receive your money faster and, if you are a taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
