So my little jog round London is complete!

Blackheath to Buckingham Palace in just under 4 hours (3h55m57s to be exact) and one of the very best days of my life.

Thank you everyone for your unbelievable generosity and support. We’ve together managed to raise over £3000 for the MNDA and the knowledge that each mile I ran was worth over £100 (£125 now and counting!) really did keep me going - particularly along the mean streets of Millwall as the cramp set in and the sun grew hotter!

Thank you so so much.

Here’s why I ran...

I'm running this year's London marathon in the hope of raising £2000 for the Motor Neurone Disease Association - a charity that has recently become hugely important to me.

Until just a few months ago I knew very little about MND but in July 2010 my brother in law Alistair was diagnosed with this unbelievably cruel and terminal illness at just 39.

Al first noticed something was wrong back in March of last year when he started to lose the strength in his left leg. Less than a year on he is unable to walk and the rest of his body continues to weaken.

It's an awful disease that kills 5 people in the UK everyday, leaves people unable to walk, talk or feed themselves and gives sufferers a life expectancy of between 2 and 5 years. There is no known cause and no cure.

The MND Association - funded entirely by public donations - is an absolutely brilliant charity that has already made a genuine difference to the lives of Al and my sis and their two young kids in these unbelievably difficult first few months since his diagnosis.

As well as providing invaluable support and advice to sufferers and their families the MNDA also funds crucial research into the disease so that hopefully one day soon a cure will be found.

Every donation, however large or small, is hugely appreciated and will make a genuine difference.

Any marathon training tips or free massages also very welcome!

Thank you,

Tim x
