The Stroke Association - The Thames Bridges Bike Ride · 11 May 2008 ·

Every day in the UK, another 240 people wake up to the catastrophic impact of a stroke. The Stroke Association is the leading charity in the UK providing lifelong support for all stroke survivors and their families.

Story

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page.

O.K. here's the deal............

Richard (Trike) Harris asked on a ROGS (Retired Old Gits Society) Run lunch for anyone to help support the Stroke Assoc charity cycle. Seemed quite a good idea at the time, but unfortunately I had just put my hand up, trying to attract the waiter's attention to get tomato sauce for the chips.

So I dragged my mountain bike out of the garage and stuffed my fat bum on it about four weeks ago, for a bit of 'training'.

Cripes, no screen or heated grips, no rear suspension, absolutely no power (that's my fault), crap brakes, steers like...well a bike, comfort is shall we say - spartan, bl$$dy hell who thought this cycling lark was a practical mode of transport.  If I wanted my legs shaving I'd do it at home, not let a38 ton artic full of Guildford's domestic waste going to landfill to do it for me .

So here's your bit.........and it's a barking site easier than my bit

 ..........................Sponsor me !!!..............

It's 33 miles from Tower Bridge to Hampton Court Bridge, crossing most of them on the way, and of course it's uphill

I don't need to tell you Richard has been a member of WVAM for many years and does loads for the club.....in the UK one person suffers a Stroke every five minutes and Stroke is the 3rd most common cause of death.
Stick a pledge on this thread or email me or call 07785 110443. Give me your home address when convenient and I can gift aid it for the extra tax relief.
Come on you know you want to be the highest bidder on this list

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: The Stroke Association will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

So dont' think I must get round to that later, just do it - now, and please sponsor me now!

Many thanks for your support. Tim G
