Tim is running the Great Gorilla Run at the head of a (hopefully) sizable Face Africa team raising money for Gorilla Conservation in Central Africa.

With Face Africa, we have recently joined forces with The Gorilla Organisation (formerly the Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund Europe) whereby we hope to be supporting the programmes that they are undertaking in Uganda, Rwanda and Congo in an effort to conserve Gorillas through local development.  There is a strong emphasis on the Mountain Gorillas, but the remit also extends to lowland and cross-river Gorillas too.  The reason I have chosen to work with these guys is their rounded approach to Gorilla conservation: working with the surrounding communities to reduce their impact on the forest environment and gain benefit from Gorilla Tourism.

The Great Gorilla Run is about raising awareness (nothing like a couple of thousand Gorillas in the city to cause a stir), and general hilarity as not only are the runners furry-suited, but fancy dress is also expected on top!  It's great fun, it attracts a lot of interest, and it's a great way to raise money for Primate Conservation and community development in Central Africa.
