The aim of Water for Kids is to preserve and protect the good health of people in the developing world by assisting in the provision of safe drinking water, good sanitation and other public health matters. Water for kids is currently involved in projects in Zambia, Uganda, Kenya and India.

My story

I've decided to enter the Great North Swim on Saturday 12th September, my first attempt at Open Water Swimming (*except for a paddle in the River Derwent), setting off at 9.00am across Lake Windermere (approximately a mile in distance) and I am genuinely in (some kind of) training to complete the event in the best time I can. Its the UK's biggest mass participation open water swim. You can find out more about the swim at: http://www.greatswim.org/

My chosen charity is Water For Kids, http://waterforkids.org.uk/, providing clean water for children in a number of countries across the globe, keeping in with the water theme thrown up by my chosen event, and hopefully raising funds for a valuable cause.
