We raise vital funds to make MTW Hospitals an outstanding, patient friendly provider by providing additional equipment, services and amenities, above what the NHS can currently provide, improving the care received and health outcomes across the areas in which the Trust operates.

Story

Tiny babies, big appeal
This page has been set up to raise funds for the special care baby unit (SCBU) at Pembury Hospital, where our daughter Timi spent the first 15 weeks of her life. You can follow her journey through SCBU by clicking on the 'My video' link underneath the photo to the left of this text.

3 months too soon
Timi was born 3 months sooner than expected on Jul 27th 2009. She weighed just 1lb 10oz (755g). Thanks to the fantastic care and attention she received from the doctors and nurses during her time in special care, she has continued to make good progress, and was finally able to be taken home by her parents on Nov 10th 2009, weighing just under 4lb.

Neonatal units across the country rely heavily on charitable donations to help fund their work. Last year alone, Pembury SCBU purchased over £60,000 worth of vital equipment using money secured through fundraising efforts. This included items such as a new incubator costing £16,500, a ventilator costing £24,000, and a vital-signs monitor costing £11,000.

So please dig deep, and remember that while you cannot put a price on a baby's life, you can put a price on the equipment neonatal units need to take care of sick and premature babies. All money raised will be directed exclusively to the Pembury SCBU via the Maidstone & Tunbridge Wells NHS Charitable Trust fund.

Thank you.
