Story
I soccer ball can give you hope, give you live, or just a last chance. Soccer can teach teamwork, desire, and discipline. There are over 1 billions homeless people in the world and soccer is played in every country. Some who run away at a young age from abusive parents. Some had their homes and family destroy by bombings in Afganistan. Some live in poverty in Africa. Some are battling drug addictions. I recently watched the Homeless World Cup on ESPN. Some of them play soccer to bring attention to their country, or to show the world that the average person does not want war, or to prove to themselves that they can achieve something they set out to do and can carryover that mentality to quit drugs. I have not always made the right decisions in life, nor do I have much in common with the participants on the Homeless world cup, but I can understand the simple message. The desire to play soccer can often keep you out of trouble and influence decisions you make in life. Seeing how some of the participants used the momentum from making their country's team to kick drugs, get jobs, and find a home, it motivated me to do something. Please help me raise money to build fields in Africa, fight war, supply food and toothpaste, or just give someone the hope they need. A ball can give people something they never thought possible.
