Saturday 17th July - Brilliant days cycling, weather fantastic. Arrived at the Eiffel tower around 3.30pm, i've done it!! It's a great feeling! Thinking of you Janice. xx
Friday 16th July - Day 3 and now done over 260 miles. Good cycling today, rain this morning and sun this afternoon. Had to dig deep today to keep going, could not have managed another day like yesterday. Lots of food needed tonight to keep my energy up!! Tomorrow - Paris!
Thursday 15th July - First 25 miles up hill and into the strong wind. The wind is causing problems for lots of people, stopped for lunch and only 10 people there in 1.5 hours, everyone will be tired tonight.
4.45pm - day 2 over and 192 miles cycled! Very hard day, even had to pedal down the hills to fight against the wind. Am now resting at the hotel.
Wednesday 14th July - got picked up early, thank you Alan. Ride started from Crystal Palace. Met Janice for lunch in Staplehurst which was absolutely lovely!! Good to see both her and Roger and remind myself why I am doing this crazy bike ride.- 4.30pm just text to say I have arrived in Dover and have not got wet all day! I was the 10th person to get to Dover out of the whole group so doing OK at the moment!! Ferry leaves at 6.30pm, sea looking a bit choppy!!
Sunday11th July -Only a few days before I leave for Paris - thanks to everyone for their good luck messages, will try and keep you posted on this page over the next few days. Lets hope the sunshine of the last 3 weeks stays a bit longer!
I am cycling London to Paris in July 2010 to raise funds for Breast Cancer Care. I was asked to do this by my department secretary at Mid Kent College who is fighting cancer for the second time. Breast Cancer Care was chosen as her first cancer diagnosis was Breast Cancer. If you are able to donate to this worthy cause it would be much appreciated.
