Thank you for visiting my fundraising page...... Its less than three days now before I leave, my friend Dave Cotterell is coming with me on the northern stage, Thank you Dave for your support, I hope we won't need your mechanical skills...... Not surprisingly the camp sits in Scotland were amused to hear we wanted to book a pitch..... something about the weather maybe??...... I'd be grateful for any last minute pledges and donations. And please pass this link onto anyone you think might be interested....... Starting on the 12th April 2008 I will be taking my 51 year old Citroen 2CV on a 3000 mile figure of 8 around Britain. The car only does 48 miles a hour top speed and has a 425cc engine..... The event is the first of its kind for 2CVs and mine will be one of the oldest car competing. Luckily its not a timed rally but each of the stages will be awarded points for tasks and questions answered along the way. So I'm hoping to score well, but my main aim is to complete the two week event without a hitch. Apart for having fun my main reason for doing this is to raise money for the fantastic Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy Trust........ The Trust was set up recently by friends of mine who have a wonderful son called Oliver with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. They desperately need to raise funds for research into a cures for what is the second most common inherited life-threatening disease in the UK. To find out more about the Trust and its aims please take a look at their website. hwww.dmdtrust.com Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy Trust will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you So please sponsor me now! Many thanks for your support.
