Story
Thanks for visiting my fundraising page
On the 10th of August 2007 my father collapsed in my garden. Little did we realise at the time this was the beginning of a stroke. When he arrived at Southend Hospital he was given a 1 in 99 chance of survival and had it not been for the quick response of the stroke team led by Dr Paul Guyler he would have died. Having spent a week in critical care he was then transerred to the high dependancy unit before eventually moving onto the Stroke Unit where he received intensive physiotherapy for the next 2 months .
These people not only saved his life, but due to the care he received from the unit have allowed us to enjoy a quality of life with him. So please dig deep and sponsor me as I attempt the London to Southend bike ride in aid of the Southend Stroke unit ...cheers Tim
