On 20th August I’ll be participating in the UK IRONMAN Triathlon in Sherborne, Dorset (http://iron.ironmanuk.com). This format is widely regarded as one of the toughest races in the world comprising a seamless:
- 2.4m/3.8km swim
- 112m/180km cycle
- 26.2m/42km run
I have been training for about a year and will be aiming to finish the brutal course in under 13 hours, but to be honest just dragging myself across the line is the real objective!
Once again I am raising money for Jane Tomlinson’s Appeal (http://janesappeal.com/); Jane is an incredible lady who was diagnosed with terminal cancer 6 years ago. Against the odds she has completed many endurance races whilst undergoing serious chemotherapy and managing to raise over £1 million to date that she divides between several cancer charities.
