Having tapped up many of you for my Brighton to Paris ride last year, I thought I'd change the format and tackle the allegedly tougher South Downs Challenge this year.

It's 105 miles off road from Winchester to Eastbourne over 3 days - although I can't help thinking the toughest bit might be the 2 nights under canvas in the middle of nowhere.

Once again, I'm raising money for the Argus Appeal which supports worthwhile causes in Sussex .  Its work is particularly relevant in the current climate so if you can, I'd be extremely grateful for any support you are able to give.
