Congenital heart disease is one of the biggest killers of infants. Every 2 hours a baby is born with a serious heart defect. Our specialist training means that now more than half of them are picked up during pregnancy. This is why Tiny Tickers exists; to give babies a better start in life.

UPDATE  MONDAY 27TH JUNE 20111

We did it.  It was the toughest mental and physical thing I have done.  But with the support of my fellow bikers we all crossed the line on Friday.  Thanks to all that supported me. I still cannot believe I did it.  Thanks for all your donations.

Hello and thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Well the time has come to commit ink to paper (well fingers to the keyboard) and tell you what I am doing.

My friend Adrian and I are cycling 400km next June in Tanzania (it was his idea and I resisted for a while).  We are doing The Big Heart Bike Ride and we are raising funds to fight heart disease.

Whilst I am lucky not to have been directly affected by heart disease, I feel that this is something that affects a lot of people.  The four charities are British Heart Foundation, Cardiac Risk in the Young, Tiny Tickers and Heart UK.

We have months of training ahead of us (we have started already with a regular 15 mile ride on a Sunday on a flat tarmac cycle way - similar to the roads in Tanzania of course!).

It will be the challenge of a lifetime - the training and then the cycle ride itself and the purpose of this - the fundraising.

I (and the charities) would appreciate any donation that you can make to hit the target that we all have to reach. They are really worthwhile causes and who knows what my next challenge will then be.

Thanks very much, Tina.
