<p><span style="color: #000000;"><strong>Sixteen women die every day giving birth in Uganda. That is nearly 6000 every year. Around 40% of under five deaths are newborn and sadly the vast majority occur within a few dates of life.</strong></span></p>
<p>To achieve a better maternity outcome, Nebbi needs its own accessible unit. To date, ‘<strong style="font-style: inherit; font-weight: 900;">Eagle’s Wings’</strong> has bought and registered two acres of land next to the main road. The women have cleared it themselves (with their babies tied to their backs), and the architect’s plans have been approved.</p>
<p style="font-weight: 300; margin-top: 15px; margin-right: 0px; margin-bottom: 15px; margin-left: 0px; padding: 0px;">Now the real challenge begins and the charity need help. The estimated cost from foundations to fully operational is £70,000. With £25,000 it can build a simple structure as the first stage, enabling precious lives to be spared.</p>
<p style="font-weight: 300; margin-top: 15px; margin-right: 0px; margin-bottom: 15px; margin-left: 0px; padding: 0px;"><strong style="font-style: inherit; font-weight: 900;">To raise funds, a variety show by accomplished artists which was held at the Notting Hill Tabernacle on the 14th October 2011. Also there were auctions of donated items as well as raffle tictet sales.</strong></p>
