MU Foundation Sahara Trek · 31 March 2009

Manchester United Foundation uses the passion for Manchester United to benefit communities and improve the lives of young people through: educational programmes, promoting a greater understanding of social issues through education, and by developing unique partnerships with like-minded organisations.

Story

I must be mad, but I've signed up to do a Sahara trek in November with the Manchester United Foundation.  The foundation supports charities such as Unicef, Christies etc.

The trek incorporates the following:

Day 1 - Depart to Ouarzazate, Morocco
Day 2 - Ouarzazate to Lahfira Camp (2 hours walking)
Day 3 - Maider El Kbir Plateau (6 hours walking)
Day 4 - Climb Jebel Lamrakeb (7 hours of walking)
Day 5 - Rhris River (6 hours walking)
Day 6 - Dunes of Boulaadam (6 hours walking)
Day 7 - Return to Ouarzazate (3 hours walking)
Day 8 - Depart Ouarzazate to UK

I will be walking with MU legends such as Denis Irwin and Andy Ritchie, and the club's official TV station MUTV (sky channel 406) will record the entire trek.

Those of you that know me are well aware that this is a big ask for someone like me, but I'm determined to complete this.  I'd like to ask if you would kindly donate to help support this event and my place in it.  I need to raise £500 by the end of April to guarantee my place, and then a total of £3200 by the end of September to enable the trek to go ahead.

Thanks!
