2nd August will be the day of my first and most likely only attempt at a long distance triathlon at Ironman UK. It will be a long and largely uncomfortable day doing the following: 2.4 mile (3.8km) swim, 112 mile (180km) bike and 26.2 mile (42km) run.
I have decided to raise as much money as possible for Foundation Human Nature, which is a charity bringing affordable health care to communities in Ghana and Ecuador that previously had to do without this basic need. Significantly, the charity is run by volunteers in the UK and the only source of funding is via donations (no clipboards on the pavement, advertising, direct mail, etc). This means that the cost base is minimal and all donations feed through to the various projects.
