STOP PRESS!!
We did it ( well three of us did...) - Makem was bed-ridden with man flu and has vowed to run it next year. Another reason, as if we needed one, for us all to do it again.
Stoth - 2hrs 47 mins; Jim & Gargo - 3 hrs 4 mins. (Awaiting race day photo to put on the site in the next day or so )
If you have already donated - a huge thank you. If you haven't, please read on....
===============================================================
Thank you for taking the time to visit our fundraising page. Hopefully this means you are just about to sponsor one, or several, of:
Stoth/Mo/Stotty/Steve OR Ian/Makem/Wrightson/Rumour OR Ian/Gargo/Gargs/Sexy OR Jim. Sadly for Jim he only has one name, he does make up for it in other ways though.
You may already be aware that Stoth has done the Great North Run for the past two years, in order to raise funds for Cancer Research UK. This has been inspired by the memory of his sister Hazel who was a victim of this awful disease in September 2004.
This year he has remarkably persuaded the others to join in both to promote their own fitness levels and general well-being ( as if ) and more importantly to boost potential fundraising opportunities for such a worthwhile cause in Hazel's memory.The race takes place on Sunday 30 September.
All your donations will be going directly from this website site to Cancer Research UK. Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor us: Cancer Research UK will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
Please dig deep and sponsor us online now. Obviously some of you will know more than one of us, so please multiply your donation by the appropriate number if you possibly can. Don't hold back once you have your Switch card out, these funds are desperately needed.
Seriously, thanks for your support. Knowing how much people are willing to contribute is what motivates us as we rack up those training miles. On the day itslef it's what gets you round the course.
Thank you for your generosity and support
Steve, Ian, Ian & Jim
