About our charity : Crimestoppers Crimestoppers
Crimestoppers is the independent crime-fighting charity. We help to arrest 17 criminals every day and one murderer every 5 days. Crimestoppers runs the anonymous phone number, 0800 555 111, that people can call to pass on information about crime. We also have an anonymous online ‘Giving Information’ form that people can fill-out to pass on information. Some people fear the consequences of going to the police when they know about crime. Crimestoppers is there for them. Because the phone number is anonymous, callers are not asked for any personal information and calls cannot be traced. The 0800 555 111 phone number has been helping to find criminals and solve crimes for more than 20 years. We’ve received more than 1million phone calls with useful information about crime. It’s a system that works for everyone – except criminals. Crimestoppers works. Every day around 20 people are arrested and charged as a result of calls to Crimestoppers. With your support, we can continue fighting to make our society a safer place to live.

Our personal message:

In February 2007, I am taking part in the Westminster Challenge which is a trek across the Arctic wilderness by husky dog sled with a cross-party team of Members of Parliament.  The team will travel through Finland, Sweden and Norway.

The Westminster Challenge was created in 2006 to engage Members of Parliament in the work of UK charities and to fundraise on their behalf.  The organisation acts as a link between the political and charitable worlds, promoting the work of each with the other and the general public.

Aims of The Westminster Challenge
There are three principal aims of The Westminster Challenge:
1) To engage Members of both Houses of Parliament in the work of UK charities and vice versa
2) To raise a significant amount of money for a range of UK charities
3) To help to change the public’s perception of Parliamentarians

Supporting the Work of UK Charities
The work of The Westminster Challenge will support three main charities until the end of 2007 - Cancer Research UK (Reg Charity No 1089464), The Children’s Society (Reg Charity No 221124) and Crimestoppers (Reg Charity No 1108687),

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Crimestoppers will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

So please sponsor me now!

Many thanks for your support.
