Story
Of the many things I may be, a natural runner I am not!
This temporary madness of running this marathon for the Stroke Association is becasue of two men I admired greatly. Both had their lives affected by a stroke, both served their country, both were true gentlemen and sadly neither are still with us today.
My grandfather (see Flickr photo) recovered quite well from his stroke, with lots of support from his wife, the local stroke club and although he couldn't move as fast and speak as well as before the stroke, he still enjoyed quite a bit of quality time before he died 4 years ago.
In September of last year my father-in-law Sid White (see Flickr photo) suffered a very severe stroke and from that day say unable to speak, eat or move and although he battled hard, you could see the frustration in his face, he died in January of this year.
Please read about the Stroke Association to the left, they do a great deal of work and as I found out recently, provide essential information and support.
Still not quite sure how I'm going to run this distance, training is much tougher than I imagined, but hopefully the thought of your money will push me that extra mile (or 26!).
Please dig deep and sponsor me online, thank you for your support.
Toby
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: The Stroke Association will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
