Here goes, my first marathon and where better to start... the 2010 Virgin London Marathon! It's been an ambition of mine for quite some time to run in this world famous event, I also wanted to mark the occasion with a thoughtful gesture.
In 2008 we lost a very dear
family friend and it is my privilege
and pleasure to run in honour of a wonderful man, Paddy McCourt. The care and support given to Paddy, his wife Cathy and their
family by Macmillan is a testament to care and support this charity provides
throughout the UK. It is with Cathy’s blessing that I am running to raise money
for this very worthy cause.
I have already started my training and will be running in both the
Watford Half Marathon (07/02) and the MK Half Marathon (08/03) as a build up to
the big day! Make a donation, send me a message of encouragement and support or
come along and watch me train. Better still, come to central London on the day
and watch me and thousands of other runners raising money and making the London
Marathon a Guinness world record holder as the largest single annual fund
raising event in the world!
