The expedition will involve us travelling nearly 20,000 miles through 30 countries. In September 2009 we will drive from Buckinghamshire, England to Hel valley, South Africa and then attempt to drive back home. We will travel down the East coast of Africa, before returning up the far less travelled West Coast, whilst also scaling Kilamanjaro, the continent’s highest mountain. From the savanah to the sahara, to full blown mountain ranges with vitually non existent roads, this challenge cannot be underestimated!
This is a circumnavigation of Africa, the hardest way round we could have found, but we hope to leave a lasting legacy through helping Link Ethiopia improve sports provision in Northern Ethiopia as well as working with various other projects across the continent. We do not hide that 11 months travelling abroad makes us very lucky, but hope to use the trip as a way of raising £10, 000 for two amazing charities Link Ethiopia and Alzheimer’s Trust UK.
This page is just for donations to Alzheimer's Research Trust, a separate page is available for donations to Link Ethiopia. Donations can also be taken by post, please just visit our website.
