Some of you many know I'm an area Director for Spicerhaart.

Our charity has raised in excess of £1m over the years and is dedicated to helping children from our supported hospices and their families on annual trips to Disneyland Paris.

Any additional funds in the charity pot have historically been used to provide vital equipment, electrical appliances, hoists to lift the children in and out of their beds or baths, and toys for the Children’s Hospices.

We currently support 13 Children’s Hospices around the country that are situated close to our branch network which enables our staff to get involved and see the difference the fundraising makes.

Our colleagues fundraise all year with our main aim to take families to Disneyland Paris every year for a special trip to spend time together.  Sometimes families have recently been bereaved and they find the support at this very difficult time absolutely invaluable.  In 2017 we took a record 322 people from 66 families from the 13 Hospices we support to Disneyland Paris for four days.  Each year different members of staff accompany the trips, not only as representatives but also to assist wherever they can. One Trustee member who recently travelled, stated ‘to call the experience moving is an understatement’.
