Better bone health for everybody. We’re proud to be the only UK-wide charity dedicated to improving the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of osteoporosis. With more than 30 years of expertise and experience behind us, we are committed to helping keep the nation’s bones stronger for longer.

Story

Having ran some half marathons in 2010 I decided now was the time to go the full 26 miles.

I am running for The National Osteoporosis Society, the only UK wide charity dedicated to improving the diagnosis, prevention and treatment of osteoporosis. 1 in 2 women and 1 in 5 men over the age of 50 in the UK will fracture a bone, mainly as a result of Osteoporosis. The cause of the disease is still not understood, but research continues to build up a picture of the factors that influence our bone health.

Training highlights this year include more half distance races in St Albans (23rd January) Brighton (20th February) and Liverpool (27th March).

Rest assured I will be trying my hardest from now until the finish line on 17th April 2011. In the meantime any donation of any size is a help and very much appreciated. I look forward to reading your supportive comments below!
