St Leonard's is part of the Hospice Movement, a voluntary service for people with life-threatening illness. Our specially trained medical and nursing staff offer daycare for people living in their own homes and in-patient care in a purpose built 20-bedded unit. No charge is made to patients.

Thankyou for visiting our fundraising page, Tom and Alex:

Our dad passed away on the 1st of January 2009 in St Leonard's Hospice, York, aged 54, four months after being diagnosed with secondary bone cancer. Having spent a great deal of time in Leeds General Infirmary, he moved to St Leonard's Hospice during Christmas 08.

The christmas we spent together was the best it could have been, St Leonard's is a special place where the care and support shown to our dad made his last days as happy and comfortable as possible.

In memory of our dad and to raise funds for St Leonard's, we alongside our two uncles Jay and Dan, will walk the West Highland Way in September this year. The walk is around 100 miles from Glasgow to Fort William and will take several days. And then on to Ardnamurchan in the Western Highlands, a place he and our mum visited and loved, to join the rest of our family.
