Story

Thank you for visiting our fundraising page. It's still not too late to sponsor us!

On Sunday 2nd July, as London temperatures soared to 32 degrees, we attempted The British 10K Run! Despite the grueling conditions, we both successfully completed the course. I crossed the line in 49mins followed by Ally in 1 hour 14mins.

We had a fantastic day and actually enjoyed it! Thanks to your support we have managed to double our target and raised over £1800 for the Samantha Dickson Research Trust http://www.sdrt.co.uk/

Thank you

The SDRT exists to find a cure for childhood and adult Brain Tumours through funding research and to offer support, hope and information to patients and their carers. In nine years the Charity has become the largest single fundraiser for brain tumour research in the .

3 years ago my Dad was diagnosed with a brain tumor. This was an enormous shock and through a lack of understanding of knowing how this disease can be treated we feared the worst. In 2003 he underwent brain surgery but unfortunately 18 months later the tumour returned. Last year he had another operation followed by radiotherapy and the tumour was successfully removed.  He currently is tumour free and in very good health. The SDRT has been a huge comfort to my Dad. The help and support received through their patient support services has been invaluable.

As you can see this charity is very close to our hearts and with your help we would like to raise money for this worthy cause. Your sponsorship donation will help SDRT to continue their research in finding a cure and in supporting so many people of all ages that this disease affects.

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor us: SAMANTHA DICKSON RESEARCH TRUST will receive your money faster and, if you are a taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
