As you can see above, I am seeking to raise a tremendous amount of cash for my favorite/favourite charity, Advantage Africa. Now more than ever, with the turmoil that has unfolded in Kenya, this charity needs all of our support, so please be generous.

Your sponsorship will make a real difference to the lives of people disadvantaged by poverty, HIV and disability: £15 provides nutritious food for an orphaned child for a month, £50 makes a row of school desks and £300 trains a teacher in special needs education.

I will be running four half-marathons, therefore 50 miles in my 50th year, and recording the progress of my training and each race in a regular blog. I have also recorded my running journey since 1991 in photographs.  The pain, strain and drain will all be worth it if I know that I have your support.
